BUSINESS CONTRIBUTIONS PROGRAM

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Idaho Youth Ranch Business Contributions Program gives Idaho businesses the opportunity to support at-risk youth and their families by contributing cash and/or non-cash donations. Every contribution, large or small, helps the Idaho Youth Ranch accomplish its mission. Your non-cash contribution can directly support the needs of our residential treatment homes and/or will be converted to cash as a result of reselling these contributions in our thrift stores or through our e-Commerce division (online sales of used books and antiques). All contributions stay in Idaho to help youth and families. Last year, through business and individual contributions, the Idaho Youth Ranch helped nearly 1,700 at-risk youth and their families.
You can support our mission by contributing non-cash items that might include: excess inventory; last year's models; slow sellers; buy backs; and old items. Your contributions will go a long way in helping Idaho’s youth!

IDAHO YOUTH RANCH BACKGROUND

The Idaho Youth Ranch provides at-risk youth and families a bridge to a valued, responsible and productive future. To this end, we help each child find the hope, vision, courage and will to succeed. We teach values, responsibility and self-discipline in honest, caring environments. We believe in family, work, accountability, education and responsible behavior. We are a catalyst for change. The first Idaho Youth Ranch facility for at-risk youth was built in 1953 in Rupert, Idaho, based on the belief that education, counseling, and structured recreation delivered in a safe and stable family-based ranch environment could change negative behavior in youth. During the next 50 years, the Idaho Youth Ranch expanded its mission and contributions to the lives of Idaho youth and their families with the creation of community-based residential treatment programs, family counseling, foster care recruitment and training, adoptions services, community transition programs, and education scholarships.

Today, the Idaho Youth Ranch operates residential treatment programs that serve the needs of youth who have experienced any one or more of the following circumstances: alcohol or drug abuse; abuse and/or neglect (physical, emotional, or sexual); family conflicts; consistently in trouble—at home, at school, or with the law; runaway or homelessness. On any given day we are impacting the lives of nearly 500 children and families throughout Idaho.

As a non-profit, the Idaho Youth Ranch relies on generous contributions of cash and/or gently used items to fund its programs and services. Gently used items are resold in 27 Idaho Youth Ranch Thrift Stores located throughout the state, or via its E-Commerce department, which sells used books, antiques and collectible items on the world wide web.

The Idaho Youth Ranch Retail Division--which includes thrift stores, distribution centers, vehicle sales, and E-Commerce--provides jobs to over 200 Idahoans as well as affordable goods for low-income families. Idaho Youth Ranch Thrift Stores generate sales tax revenue for the state, and contribute to “Keeping Idaho Green” by reselling used goods that might have otherwise ended up in Idaho landfills.
