RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT FOR YOUTH

Overview and Referral Information

The Idaho Youth Ranch residential substance abuse treatment program is designed to meet the needs of male and female adolescents who have a primary diagnosis of substance abuse. Our comprehensive solutions for alcohol and drug addictions help adolescents stay off drugs and alcohol and achieve healthy coping skills and educational success through personalized care, quality program components and expert staff. Family participation is also a key care component.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

  • Residential community setting in Coeur d’Alene
  • Length of stay is typically 90-120 days
  • On-site accredited school and structured recreation
  • Substance abuse education and treatment
  • Problem solving and social skill building
  • Individual, group, and family counseling
  • Licensed by the State of Idaho Department of Health and Welfare

ADMISSION CRITERIA

  • Males ages 13 to 17
  • Primary diagnosis of substance abuse
  • Secondary problems include:
    • Learning disabled
    • Victims of abuse and/or neglect (physical, sexual, psychological)
    • Poor school performance
    • Dysfunctional home environment
    • Mental health issues (i.e. depression, anxiety)
    • Juvenile delinquency
  • Unable to admit adolescents who:
    • Need detoxification at time of referral
    • Have established patterns of extremely aggressive behavior, or sexual acting-out

  • Screenings and referrals provided by Business Psychology Associates (BPA), the statewide screening and referral source for substance abuse (800-922-3406).
